OK. We had an old topic for this, but I want to revisit this now that we've delved into our systems more and figured those out. Now we can really set up what tutorials need to be in order. And we can also specify which characters will present the tutorials.

However, first of all, let's develop a list of what tutorials are important and in what order (from basic > advanced).

Each tutorial should have a group heading (eg. Basic Movement) and then sub headings (eg. Sidestepping) so you get a tick for every sub heading, and when all the sub headings under one heading gets ticked you get a group heading tick.

Tutorials:

Basic Movement
             Directional Movement
             Vertical Movement
             Dashing

Basic Combat
             Punching
             Kicking
             Ki Blasts

Basic Defence
             Guard
             Ki Blast Deflect

Battle Management
             Locking On
             Ki Charging
             Ki Regeneration
             Health Management
             Ki Management
             Fatigue Management

Moderate Movement
             Super Dashing
             Super Dashing and Vertical Movement
             Sidestepping

Moderate Combat
             Abilities
             Ki Volleys
             Charged Ki Blast
             Physical Combos
             Smashes
             Grapples

Moderate Defence
             Upper Defence
             Lower Defence
             Grapple Defence

Burst Mode Functions
             Burst Mode
             Burst Mode Management
             Extended Burst Mode

Advanced Movement
             Evading
             Teleporting
             Burst Mode Movement

Advanced Combat
             Special Combos
             Rapid Ki Volleys
             Instant Charged Ki Blast
             Super Smash Attacks
             Ultimate Attacks

Advanced Defence
             Super Guard
             Incoming Ability Guarding

Struggles
             Ki Clash Struggle
             Ki Guard Struggle
             Physical Clashes
             Breakthroughs
             Rapid Clashes

Extra Abilities
             Transformations
             Item Usage
             Weapons
             Taunts

Team Abilities
             Tag Guage Management
             Tag Switching
             Holding
             Ally Lock-on
             Team Attacks
             Fusions

My list really needs some re-organization, and probably not grouped as formally as it is which restricts which goes where, but I think I got most of the things required for combat down.

What I was trying to do, was to order it so that the player can go through them in order, with increasing difficulty of functions. If you have better ideas on how to do this, your input is more than welcome, it's favored Cheesy

Well, let's see...here are my suggestions for characters to host.

Basic Movement: Kamesen'nin/Master Roshi.  As the first thing he teaches Goku and Kuririn are, basically, how to move properly...

Basic Combat: Grandpa Gohan.  Since he taught Goku the basics of combat...

Basic Defence: Yamcha.  Just a character I think should be in here somewhere and who could teach this.

Battle Management: Mutaito.  He's the one who really introduces ki.

Moderate Movement: Korin, as he really put Goku through the movement ringer.

Moderate Combat: Tenshinhan.  He's very good at combos and such.

Moderate Defence: Kuririn.  A fairly defensive fighter.

Burst Mode Functions: Gohan, since he has a knack for these kind of sudden power bursts.

Advanced Movement: Mr. Popo, who REALLY really put Goku through the movement ringer.

Advanced Combat: Vegeta, as he's all about the rapid ki volleys and gigantic blasts.

Advanced Defence: Piccolo, as he's basically the most cunning defensive fighter in the series.

Struggles: Goku.  Very good at clashes of all kinds, and he should be in here somewhere.

Extra Abilities: Mirai Trunks.  He's the first one who popped into my head as someone who transforms, uses weapons and items, and taunts (eg against Freeza and King Cold).

Team Abilities: Goten and Trunks, for obvious reasons.  Either as kids or teens.  (I vote teen, for all the innuendo you can slip in, but that's just me Wink )

Thanos6 has some really good ideas  Wink

These characters will make the Tutorial Mode funny and it won't be boring with them.

Great ideas Thanos!! Though who would they be teaching in some cases? I think the Team Attack lesson should be between the kids, not the teens as the tutorial will be done early in the game, and you don't want to give away that GT Gotenks is hidden in the game somewhere. But you've really hit the nail on the head with some of the reasons behind them.

The one thing that I don't like about my Tutorial layout is that there is a tutorial for Burst Mode, but all of Burst Mode's functions are scattered in other tutorials.

Who should they be teaching?  How about Uub?  Or maybe Pan?

OK, we'll go with the kids...though now I have to find somewhere else to slip in my innuendo. Wink

Like, I mean, for instance, in the Extra Abilities tutorial, Mirai Trunks should be taught by Future Gohan. So, Future Gohan will teach Mirai Trunks, with you playing as Trunks. So Future Gohan will tell you to use your sword etc, how to use items etc.

Well, like I said, we could use little Pan or Uub if we wanted to go with just one character.

(Sorry, but when you mentioned Gohan teaching Mirai Trunks, it sounded like you thought these guys were the ones I listed as the students, not the teachers)
