Cutscene Replay
Cutscene Replay, its a section of The Data Center, in the menu, in which you can view again, the epic scenes that have been shown already as the adventure mode progresses. The main purpose its to give the player the ability of revive those epic moments that happened trough the series, at any time, thus avoiding the need of finishing over again the whole Adventure mode, to see just once again a scene. The Mode
To remain close to the series, the mode takes the place of a Database showing the recorded Data of all the great moments from a small device, which actually was used from Dr. Gero to record data of the fighters abilities before the Android Saga. In the actual story, a movie reveals that a hidden room of the laboratory was still functioning after the initial destruction of it, and a computer was working autonomous after Dr. Gero's Death, making it possible for it to be still searching for info about the Doctor's rival adventures. At first, this mode will remain locked, as it is gained after some of the story progresses. Unlocking the Mode
The player can get the mode, by wishing for it to the Shenlong Dragon, and it will then reveal a new section of the Data Center. The wish will appear for wishing after the first appearence of Dr. Gero's Laboratory (Andoid Saga, DBZ), thus making able to obtain this mode exactly at the middle of the whole Story mode. Scene Types
As the Story mode progresses, the user will notice that there are several ways in which the user can watch a cutscene. Generally an Important Story cutscene followed by a battle, and hen ending the battle with another cutscene. Also, some cutscenes are just played alone, like scenes for character introduction (those which doesn't lead to a fight). Story introduction, or important scenes played just to know what a character is doing at the same time that a battle will start in another point within the same planet. - Storytelling - Cutscenes that describes how the story progresses without involving character (user) participation.
- Fight introductions - Cutscenes that lead directly to fights.
- Fight conclusion - Cutscenes that appear when a fight has ended. Can be if the character finished the fight completing or no the battle conditions.
- Stand alone - Cutscenes that lead to no fight particularly, usually to show what another character that isn't involved (too much) in the story is doing, a flight scene to a certain point of the planet, character interacting (part of a story) or a sidestory.
- Special - Special cutscenes, which involve Shenron/Porunga/Red Shenron callings, Openings, special scenes wished from the dragons (eg. Oolong's wish for panties), Credits.
Getting scenes
- Storytelling - Scenes obtained automatically at the first time shown.
- Fight introductions - Scenes obtained automatically at the first time shown.
- Fight conclusion - Variations, some scenes, are unlocked automatically, and other needs to complete the fight with special conditions (aside from the needed ones to win the battle). An example can be the Raditz death scene, to win the battle you just need to defeat Raditz, but to get the scene, you must defeat him with the "Special Beam Cannon".
- Stand alone - Obtained automatically once seen, as they are not necessary involved in the story, they can be skipped and thus, not obtained in the current playtrough, but still available to get in any later playtrough.
- Special - Obtained once seen for the first time. This special scenes are harder to get, since some of them involve the search of the Dragon Balls, wishes from any of the Dragons, or like the "credits" video, which needs the competition of the Story Mode to appear.
Looking trough the Mode
The first moment that the player enters the mode it will show Dr. Briefs, giving a short introduction of it saying something like: "We discovered something very interesting when we dug around what was left in Dr. Gero's laboratory. It seems he'd been recording the great fights on Earth and out there in the galaxy, as well as keeping a close eye on all of the galaxy's strongest fighters."
"We're decoding and transferring all of the files for our own personal records. Some of them are still in the process, so check by here as you continue through your adventures and we'll have some new footage for you." Probably after you leave the mode, some times Dr. Briefs will repeat the second phrase. The scene selection layout, will be a Dr. Briefs Computer, showing the scenes ordered between sagas. To make a faster and better search for scenes, the user will be able to select premade lists, "categories" or types of scenes, making easier to look for a specific one. Order by/ Type / Category - Ordery by Sagas - The standard organization of the scenes, ordered from sagas:
DB Г Saiyans Saga Г Androids Saga ---> [ List of scenes of the saga ] DBZ ---> | Frieza Saga | Imperfect Cell Saga DB GT | Cell Saga ---> | Perfect Cell Saga Movies ∟ Buu Saga ∟ Cell Games Saga Special
- Type - Not every scene will be shown, instead, this way will only show the type of scenes the user selected.
First time transformations ---> Г Goku ---> Г Super Saiyan Defeating Villians | Gohan | Super Saiyan 2 Story Fusions | Trunks | Super Saiyan 3 ... |... ∟ Super Saiyan 4 Special ∟Vegeta

How do you mean seperate? You would be able to skip the cutscenes if you want by pausing and then pressing a button I guess. Explain your idea a bit more, what happens after a cutscene that is supposed to lead up to a fight? Do they go back to the world map like in T2?

or do you mean you go to the specific location > cutscene > but then you can go back to walking around and stuff, so you could leave or go to the fight?

That exactly. The thing is, to being able to trigger cutscenes alone, that way you can have sort of a "cutscene player" (a menu separatedly from the story mode, in which you select a cutscene, and it then plays automatically), and view the already unlocked cutscenes without the need of having to fight or finishing the story mode again to see one. To explain it better, the idea I wanted to point out, its that "cutscene player", and the option of having some secret cutscenes between storymode. (Like the dream of Cell from Budokai 1 while waiting for the cell games, but as a cutscene)

I see what you mean. Ultimatelly you want a cutscene player. I think a lot of cutscenes should lead to fights and then lead out of fights, but then there should also be the ones that don't lead to fights if they are just adventure-like. But the cut-scene player could play the ones that involve fighting, just leave out the fight in between. It's a good idea you have there Camerinox.

i think cutscene players are cool. reason being is because in story mode you have to watch then you get to the fight in like 4mins. after the cutscene. that's why cutscene players are helpful to me.

Yeah, sometimes you just want to see the awesome bits that are legendary but you can't be bothered playing the story again.

I've decided to make some development on the idea XD. I was seeing the episode in which Kid Goku travels into the past by using the pots on Korin's Tower. And i guess that would suit perfectly the idea.
Something like You poen the mode, then select the pot (each pot its a saga), and then the scene you want to play, the reflection on the pot's water will change with an image of the scene, and of curse with a name on top of it.
And im thinking about a special pot, maybe a red one, to stand out from the other brown colored ones, in which you can see the Intro, the Shenron and Porunga calling scene, and those sort of thing.

Or it could be Old Kai (or whatever he's called) and Kibitoshin in front of the crystal ball. And you choose what one to play on the ball...... But Korins pots idea is fine.

That's a great idea Camarinox. Though, the only problem that arises, is that these pots are used for Trial Mode where Korin sends the player into one of these pots to fight enemies (which fit into the pot idea as Goku went down there to fight copies of his friends that were created inside these pots) These pots could also be used for your idea, though I'm wondering if there could also be another method to view this data? An idea that comes to mind, is how Dr Gero used those little bug cameras to watch the fights to record data for his androids. These could be used in the way that they allow you to watch cutscenes. Using this method, and because it is a part of Data Centre mode, Dr Briefs could present it in his lab, and he could explain that when they found Dr Gero's labaratory they found all of these records of Goku and all the fights that took place, and now they are in the Briefs' databases for personal records.

OK then, (talked a bit with Kamiccolo on MSN).
Now we have, that this mode, its unlockable from a Shenron's Wish, and instead of being korin's pots, it will be videos "taken" from that Gero's bug cameras that Kamiccolo posted.
I guess, IT will look the same, you select the saga, and then the scene.
