It's safe to say I haven't seen the controls list for a LOOONG time. Now that I look at it I see a lot of good points about it, however there does seem to be some clutter around the right analogue stick and the R2 button. I think that the way you switch characters needs to be reviewed as well as switching weapons and flying vertically.

An idea would be to only have to press the R3 button to bring up the characters to switch to like we've seen in Raging Blast examples (however not in that horrible circle XD) Perhaps they could appear under the HUD as icons and you can then scroll through them with the directional buttons? Then you click R3 again, to exit you just hold R3.

Not sure if that's the best solution, but it's just an idea. I'd love somebody to think of some ideas to so we can come up with something cool.

The Flying vertically thing is also a little odd and might get weird. Any ideas on that without changing other controls? Cause I reckon the L1, L2, R1 and face buttons are all perfect.

You mean for different characters? It could be like Budokai 3 and be done by pressing left or right on the control pad. Or do you mean by transformations like the Tenkaichi's? That could be done by selecting the character with X and then moving left or right on the control pad to select the fusion or transformation, capsuloes, weapons ie.

Agreed with your point on this.

 Embarrassed

Well then, I agree with what you said. Might be a bit hard if you are in a tight spot to activate though...

I actually like the idea of Pressing a button to view a grid of your available characters over the HUD , could be in the directional buttons or the X, [], O, Triangle Buttons. That way it could be easy, But DBZ  MIck has a pont there... lol i dont remember our current button configuration.

Remember guys, all the 'finalised' or at least partially finished ideas are in the systems list, so go there to check it out, but basically it involved the Right analogue having these functions:

Up - Draw Weapon
Down - Withdraw Weapon
Left - Cycle through characters
Right - Cycle through characters
Press - Switch characters

Basically I want to free up space on the analogue stick since it's very cluttered, a tag 'mini menu' of sorts might fix this.

I don't think you need to change characters instantly. I hated almost killing the enemy only for them to switch characters.

Well i dont se why we are using two buttons for weapons... could it work if we use the same button for draw and withdraw? its not like we can draw a weapon that we already have in the hands... or am I missing something?  Grin

Up - Draw/Withdraw Weapon

I dunno

True. One button would be better. I'm starting to think wether the Right Analogue should purely control the camera unless you hit R3 to switch characters. Then the Weapon button will have to be switched to somewhere. The Right Analogue is just a litter cluttered in my opinion and should probably be freed up for less confusing gameplay.

I have a new idea, or more of a query. Do more people use the D-pad or the analogue stick for Tenkaichi? I am wondering if the d-pad could be used for functions like withdrawing/drawing weapons.

So far you can choose to use either the d-pad or the analogue stick for moving, sidestepping and input for combos and finishing moves. I'm cautious of this because Raging Blast failed with using analogue sticks for pretty much everything.

The Right analogue stick could then be used entirely for the camera and then on the d-pad: (up = draw/ withdraw weapon, other buttons: .....?)
